About Geoff

After 43 years in engineering in Derbyshire I left, in 2016, to pursue my interest in writing and photography full time. As a regular contributor to local publications, for many years, I have been able to indulge in my passion for photography, motorsport and local events around Derbyshire.

I have been privileged to meet many of the people who bring life to this wonderful county, from Olympic gold medallist Adam Peaty to Kevin Oakes, seeking to return Royal Crown Derby to its rightful place as a world-leading brand. Nothing gives me greater pleasure than to report on a driver’s success at Donington Park and getting to know some of the many local drivers who race at many different levels of competition.

The new Derby Arena and velodrome has opened a world of opportunity for local cyclists. Some of my favourite events have been covering cycling, both track and Tour of Britain road races. I have also covered the Jenson Button Trust Triathlon events in Derby and am I delighted to have been given the role of official event photographer for 2017.

I am a member of the National Union of Journalists and a UK Press Card holder.
